    Is this genuine?

I have used a blackberry belt clip for years and have ordered this one as a gift for someone else. I think they’re great and have never had any problems. However, when this arrived from Tech-Gear this morning, the comments on the order say “replica” and I have noticed that it differs from my product in some ways such as no logo on the clip. I hope that this is genuine as advertised.

    Not so bad!

I was really pleased with my holster. I wanted something a bit more substantial to protect my phone than the slip cover that it originally came with, and this fits the bill. My 8310 fits snuggly in the holster and the screen is protected.

I didn’t want the case to use the holster functionality as I don’t need to attach my blackberry to my belt for ease of access at work. However, at the risk of sounding really girly, the holster attachment is ideal for keeping your phone safe in your handbag! Most women’s handbag designers assume that we all use tiny little phones and therefore only put in tiny little mobile phone pockets. This is frustrating to say the least, and I often have to go hunting for my phone. The holster clip is ideal for clipping my blackberry to the mobile phone pocket allowing me to access it quickly.

The product also looks good, and not as masculine as I had thought from the pictures. I’ve not had any problems with the strength of the holster clip, but as I don’t use it in the way Blackberry intended, then I would bow to the views of the other reviewers if you need a product which is tough and can withstand the sort of activities involved in your lifestyle.

Blackberry Curve Case– A good deal!– A Critical Review
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I just upgraded my Blackberry from the 7100 to the Curve Titanium (TMO). I wanted to protect this investment and, as usual, I like to get critical feedback from people whom actually have the product and can attest to its value.

After purchasing the swivel case and screen protector, here’s my initial observation for the past two weeks.

Excellent. The case was a better cover that the one supplied by Blackberry. The magnet encased arm snaps and hold the phone snuggly in place. Some times, I twirl the phone around in my hand, just to see where gaps would form. The combination of the magnetic strap and the elastic sides keeps the phone in place securely.

I had to resolve an annoying problem that evident with the phone itself and not with the accessories: slippage. With the 7100, the design had a loop at the bottom of the phone where you could (and I did!) rig a wrist strap. I looped the wrist strap into the old 7100 case and it never fell out. That’s part of the reason I had the 7100 for 4 years.

However, there is no place to put a wrist strap on the Curve so, I bought a skin. Well, how does the skin work with the holster and screen guard?

Perfectly! The black skin and the black leather holster really enhances the look and the feel of the phone (too bad it’s not 3G!.) With regard to earlier commentators dislike for it– I found the phone to fit more snuggly. The difference between having and not having the skin on in the holster is negligible at best. In fact, it’s an added benefit because if you put the phone down and it falls off the table on to whatever surface–think the concrete surface outdoor– if that phone falls diagonally, you will see a dent or a crack in the phone. Having the skin on prevents that.

About the belt clip being useless–NONSENSE! It has a very strong spring. You want it to be tight so the phone and the holster itself won’t spring off when you bump against something or someone. Taking mass transit here in Miami, I can attest to phone clips popping off while rushing in and out of trains.

This leather holster is a good deal whether you buy other accessories for the Curve or not.

Another broken clip – steer clear of this…
    Rating:1 out of 5 stars
As other reviewers have said, the clip on this is just not strong enough. Mine broke after about 6 months. The failure in the design is the fact that the clip has a swivel mechanism that allows you to place it in either a vertical or horizonally orientation on your belt (without taking it off)- this is the weak point and inevitably the clip breaks after some use. In all the time I’ve had it I always left it in the same position, so this so called “feature” is actually a negative – far better if they’d just gone for a fixed/conventional clip mechanism which would at least be stronger.

    Not impressed

Bought last October and has just broken off the belt clip under minimal to no strain at all. As the “worst review” says the case that comes with the phone was better and it would appear that they all break quickly in the same way from what he/she says.

I am unable to find my receipt to try and get another or a refund and feel conned.

    A pathetic offering
    Rating:1 out of 5 stars
At first the case seems of good quality. However the belt clip is fragile – I’ve had two break when they catch on a seat. If I could award it 0 stars, I would. Do not waste money on this, use the slip case that comes with the Blackberry.

    Is what it is

With respect to the other reviewer, there are grooves inside both front and back to protect the scroll ball; so to protect the screen put the BB in with the screen facing the clip (this is also a more natural way to take out to answer phone). Admitedly this then partially obscures email LED, but the screen is protected. Camera seems covered then by flap also. I think this isn’t a bad piece of kit. A bit delicate (leather scratched within an hour otherwise would have got a 5), but does what it’s supposed to. Fair play to Greymobile who despatched within 3 days a piece of kit unavailable on the BB website for another month and cheaper also. If you have a 8310 and only the slip case – then buy this from Amazon.

    Blackberry 8300 case
    Rating:2 out of 5 stars
It is a shame the case does not actually cover the screen – which is kind of the main point of buying a case. Mind you, the case that comes with the Blackberry 8300 when new does not cover the screen either.
